Why you'll love it

Renting, in a strata building, or just don't want more holes in the door? The SnapShut Door Closer runs on adhesive alone, so there's nothing to drill and nothing to patch when you move out.

Once it's up, it does the boring bit for you: closing the door at a steady, quiet speed every single time, no slamming, no draughts, no doors left hanging open because someone forgot.

Installation

Box contents: one door closer unit with adhesive pre-applied to the back, and one adhesive hook plate.

Clean and dry the mounting surface, apply the sticker, then leave it for 24 hours before hanging the steel wire cable on the hook and putting it under tension. That wait matters, it's what lets the adhesive bond properly, and skipping it is the most common reason an install fails early.

Can't drill? Neither can we, so we didn't build it that way.

Around 25% of Aussie tenants don't get their full bond back, and disputes over property condition are one of the biggest reasons why. The SnapShut Door Closer mounts entirely with adhesive, so there's nothing to patch, fill, or explain to your landlord or body corporate when you move on, and nothing that puts your bond on the line in the first place.

Your pet only needs the door open once. That's all it takes...

Open doors are consistently one of the top reasons dogs go missing, and it doesn't take a mistake, just a moment. Summer is the riskiest stretch of all: nearly half of missing dog cases and 40% of missing cat cases happen in the warmer months, when doors get left ajar more often and pets are more tempted to bolt. You can't be in every room watching every door. SnapShut can.

No more slamming. No more doors left wide open.

Kids forget to close doors, and a slammed door is one of the most common ways they get hurt at home. That same door left open, can leak up to 10% of your heated or cooled air in just 15 minutes. The SnapShut closes every door at the same slow, steady speed, so nothing slams and nothing gets left wide open.

Every door's different. So the SnapShut fits all.

Timber, glass, aluminium, security screens, they all close differently because they don't all weigh the same. That's why SnapShut comes in three tension strengths, 800g, 1200g and 1500g, so you're matching the pull to your actual door instead of using one setting for everything. And however hard it's pulling, a silicone bumper cushions the final few centimetres, so it closes firmly without the hard, noisy final knock cheaper closers are known for.

How SnapShut Goes On Your Door

1. Clean and dry the surface

Wipe down the spot on the door and frame where the closer and hook will sit.

2. Stick it down

Peel the backing off the SnapShut unit and the hook plate, then press each one firmly into place.

3. Wait 24 hours

Leave both alone for a full 24 hours before doing anything else. This is what makes them hold, skip it and you're the most likely reason for an early failure.

4. Hook up the wire and you're done

Once the 24 hours is up, hang the steel wire cable on the hook and put it under tension. Now closing doors is one less thing to think about.

Have questions?

How long does delivery take?

7 to 12 business days, and shipping's free everywhere in Australia. You'll get a tracking link as soon as it's on its way.

What's your returns policy?

You've got 60 days from delivery to decide if it's staying on the door. Not happy? Send it back within that window and you'll get a full refund, no partial credit, no restocking fee.

Does it really not need any drilling?

Correct. The whole thing runs on adhesive, both the closer unit and the hook plate. No screws, no clamps, no holes in your door or your wall.

Will the adhesive actually hold, or will it fall off after a few weeks?

It holds, provided the surface is clean, dry, and given time to cure. Wipe down the mounting spot first, apply the sticker, then leave it alone for 24 hours before you hang the wire and put it under tension. Rushing that wait is the single most common reason an adhesive mount fails early, so don't skip it.

What if it doesn't stick to my door?

Adhesive needs a clean, dry, reasonably smooth surface. Painted, laminated or standard door and frame surfaces are fine. Textured, oily or damp surfaces are the exception, clean the area properly first and it'll bond as intended.

Will it work on my door?

If it's a wooden, glass, aluminium, sliding, screen or security door, residential or commercial, this is built for it. It also suits fire doors and interior office or kitchen doors. If your door's unusually heavy or oversized, go with the 1500g strength option.

What's the difference between the 800g, 1200g and 1500g options?

It's the closing force, matched to the size and weight of your door. 800g suits light interior doors, 1200g covers most standard doors, and 1500g is for heavier doors like security screens or solid timber. It's a functional choice, not a premium tier, all three cost the same.

How noisy is it? Will it slam the door shut?

No slamming. It closes at a constant, buffered speed, so the door swings shut smoothly and quietly every time instead of snapping shut.

Can I adjust how far the door swings before it closes?

Yes. The cable length is adjustable, so you can shorten or lengthen it to suit the gap between your door and the wall or frame.

How long will it actually last?

The steel wire cable and pull ring are rated to 80,000 tensile and rebound cycles before installation, so this isn't a delicate part. The ABS housing won't corrode or degrade with age either.

Is it hard to install?

No tools and no experience required. Clean the surface, stick it down, wait 24 hours, then hook up the wire and you're done. Most of the 'installation' is just waiting for the adhesive to cure.

Can I get a discount buying more than one?

Yes. Buy 2 and you save 10%. Buy 3 or more and you save 15%, and you can mix colours and strengths across your units, they don't need to match.

I manage a few rental properties or a warehouse. Can I buy in bulk?

Yes, the 3+ bundle pricing applies to however many units you're buying, and you can mix Black and White, and any strength, across the order. It's a straightforward way to fit out multiple doors without a tradesperson.

What's in the box?

The door closer unit, with the adhesive already applied to the back, and a separate adhesive hook plate. That's everything you need to mount it.

Does it come in different colours?

Black and White, so it sits against either a dark or light door and frame without standing out.
